Today’s Reading: 2 Nephi 10: 18-25
24 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.
When studying in the scriptures, I often times will look up the definition of a word that I feel is of key importance to what I am studying. Such is the case for the word “reconcile.”

restore friendly relations between.2. cause to coexist in harmony; make or show to be compatible.
One thing that stood out to me is that the word “reconcile” is a verb. What is a verb? It’s a word that describes some form of action taking place. So in order for us to reconcile with someone, we have to take action. It’s not just going to happen. And so it is with us when we try to reconcile ourselves to the will of God. Sometimes in our lives, the amount of work that we have to put into our relationship with God may feel staggering as we try to turn away from sin and temptations and restore that which has been lost. But all things are possible through our loving Savior and Redeemer and it is important that we never give up. With the Savior, there is always hope.
I have struggled a bit to know what else to include with this post. I feel there is so much to learn in this short block of scriptures and I did not want to leave anything out. But then the Spirit whispered to me that it is not about what I have to say about them. It’s about what the Spirit whispers to each individual as they read and study this block of scriptures. So now, I leave you to it. Let the Spirit be your guide as you study and ponder how to reconcile yourself to the will of God. “Therefore cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves– to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life.” (verse 23)
The time is now, my friends. If you have struggled in your relationship with God, that’s okay. He understands you perfectly and He is waiting for you. Begin today to restore friendly relations with Him and then, through the grace of our loving Savior, Jesus Christ, you will be saved.
“Now is the time to reconcile with God through the merciful process of change afforded us by the Redeemer.”
