Visiting Teaching: March 2017: The Enabling Power of Jesus Christ and His Atonement

The enabling power of Jesus Christ and His Atonement is more than we can ever comprehend. The Atonement is not just for the sinners, but to all of us become strong in whatever we struggle with.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). “Though we all have weaknesses, we can overcome them,” says President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency. “Indeed it is by the grace of God that, if we humble ourselves and have faith, weak things can become strong.”1

We are human. We all have weaknesses. We all struggle. Whether it be with mental illness, addiction, weight loss, self confidence, self doubt, or anything else, these weakness can become strengths if we learn to lean on Christ.

I have been struggling off and on the last few weeks. I’m human, I’m a girl, and I struggle with my body image. I also struggle with anxiety. When I first read the opening sentence of this months message, “I can do all things through Christ”, I felt a surge of strength. It reminded me that I am not alone in my struggles. That even when the people closest to me just don’t seem to understand, there is one person who always will and who will always encourage me to keep going.

So regardless of what it is that you struggle with or feel that you are weak in, know that when you lean on Christ, you can accomplish anything!!
