Visiting Teaching: July 2016: Our Potential for Parenthood

Happy July Sisters!!

Parenthood can be a touchy subject. Not all of us are blessed with the opportunity to bear children in this life. But all of us are blessed to nurture children of all ages. I struggled with infertility for a little bit and it was hard to watch all of my friends get pregnant during that time. But that didn’t stop me from reaching out to youth around me and being there for them. Now that I have become a mother, I encourage others to nurture my children as well.

Elder Andersen quotes a blogger a few years ago that said,

Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. You do not collect children because you find them cuter than stamps. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for.
(emphasis added)

There are days that I struggle with finding time to get everything done but when I turn my priorities back around and put my kiddos first, everything falls into place. Gad gave us an amazing gift. He gave us the gift of children to raise and nurture. Let us remember that on our rough days and snuggle our kiddos closer.
