Today’s Reading: 1 Nephi 22:8-31
26 And because of the righteousness of his people, Satan has no power; wherefore, he cannot be loosed for the space of many years; for he hath no power over the hearts of the people, for they dwell in righteousness, and

After struggling with my littles just before bed time; bathing & teeth brushing is hard! I found myself changing sheets and finishing up some much needed housework while also swirling in an internal struggle that I know all too well. A bit of laziness coupled with a touch of depression (thank you hormones) and exhaustion. The perfect mixture for the influences of the adversary to rear their ugly head and cause me to marinate too long in these feelings. Which naturally introduces more icky feelings; inadequacy, failure, frustration, fear…the list goes on. In a moment of clarity I turned on the audio version of my scriptures and was sweetly reminded just how much those words and that spirit were needed as my oldest son (5 years old) came strolling into the room and clapped his hands exclaiming ‘yay! The prophet’.
In that moment we bound Satan’s influence in our home. We took away his power.
In that moment we found peace, joy and comfort through our savior and His servants, the prophets. Oh how sweet that moment truly was, and oh how comforting was my son’s sweet exclamation; ‘yay! The prophet!‘.
That in the moments when no earthly words
can take away your sorrow
And no human eyes could see what you’re going through
When you’ve taken your last step and done all that you can do
He will lift your heavy load and carry youAs sung by –Hilary Weeks
Wife to Eric. Mom to Quinn. And Twins Avery & Rhys. I believe that I am a child of God. Who loves me & I love him. I believe in date nights to the Temple. To the movies. Out to dinner and especially long hikes.
Wednesday’s are my fave day of the week because, ‘it’s Wednesday David’. Red is simply the best color. And black takes a close second.
