Today’s Reading: 1st Nephi 13: 17-33
“Wherefore these things go forth in purity unto the Gentiles, according to the truth which is in God.” 1 Nephi 13:25
As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we believe in the truthfulness of both the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. However, we believe that many truths of the Bible have been lost throughout the past 2000 years. Translation after translation after translation, the most “plain and precious things” have been taken away, perverted, and lost. We know from this verse that the Bible was once pure, and had all the truth of God.
Thankfully, we have the Book of Mormon, and that, along with revelation given to our Church leaders – specifically Joseph Smith – has restored those truths to us. Because of the Book of Mormon, because of that Joseph Smith, we know that we can be with our families forever through those most precious temple ordinances. We know that God is our literal Father, and Jesus Christ is our Brother and Savior. We know the true order of His church on Earth. We know many, many other things, and I am so grateful for those truths that have been restored, for those pure and precious and simple truths.
