D&C 10:45

45 Behold, there are many things engraven upon the plates of Nephi which do throw greater views upon my gospel; therefore, it is wisdom in me that you should translate this first part of the engravings of Nephi,
and send forth in this work.

In what ways is The Book of Mormon the keystone of our doctrine?

President Benson stated: “The Lord Himself has stated that the Book of Mormon contains the ‘fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ’ (D&C 20:9). That does not mean it contains every teaching, every doctrine ever revealed. Rather, it means that in the Book of Mormon we will find the fulness of those doctrines required for our salvation. And they are taught plainly and simply so that even children can learn the ways of salvation and exaltation”. [i]

With The Book of Mormon as a whole and complete companion to the Bible; I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that my Father in Heaven loves me and is mindful of me. Because of Nephi’s example I know that I can do hard things with the spirit to guide me and that I need never walk this path alone. I know that obedience to the word of God is important in this life and that the Lord will always provide a way for those who are faithful and serve with obedience and a happy heart.

I pray that as we study the Book of Mormon this year that our understanding of this vitally important book and it’s doctrine will be expounded and that our missionary efforts will be increased.
I love you. You are doing better than you think.
